Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) has signed a meaningful project aimed at improving the quality of life for elderly individuals. Within the scope of the 'Physical Activity and Exercise Workshops' implemented in collaboration with the Faculty of Sports Sciences and the Center for Aging Studies Application and Research (YAŞAM), a meeting was held with the residents of Burdur Hilmi Hafize Evin Nursing Home.
The events aim to help elderly individuals maintain their physical health and lead a more active and quality life. The workshops conducted by Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Çiğdem Bacak and Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Emine Büşra Yılmaz from MAKÜ Faculty of Sports Sciences consist of exercises specially planned for the participants.
Participants have the opportunity to stay physically and mentally active with exercises aimed at increasing muscle strength, as well as movements that improve balance and support overall health.
The workshops, which will last for six weeks, will continue with regular weekly sessions. Each session will be enriched with various activities that will allow elderly individuals to turn exercise into a fun activity.
